Is the adviserzone safe and secure?

Yes, we have extensively tested all adviserzone content and applications. In addition, external auditors who are experts in internet financial applications, have approved the security infrastructure.

Data is encrypted (scrambled) to ensure privacy and the centrally based server computer is protected.

Before using the adviserzone, you need to register and complete a verification process. Once supplying the correct information we'll register you and will either:

  • allow you immediate access, if you have a "Unipass" certificate

       or

  • email you a unique User ID, and post you a temporary password. When you first log in using your temporary password we will prompt you to change this to a password of your own choice.

  • be easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess. For example, avoid using your user ID, family names or repeated keyboard characters such as AAAAAA

  • be changed at least every 90 days
  • be changed immediately if you suspect that someone else might know it

How do you keep my client details private and secure?

Adviserzone applications perform authorisation checks based upon each user's login details. These checks determine what client data each user is entitled to view. You must either present your Unipass certificate, or correctly enter you User ID and Password, before access is gained to client information

Can more than one person use the same computer and still access the adviserzone securely?

Yes, several people can access adviserzone content and applications from the same computer, provided that each person has successfully registered and either has their own Unipass certificate or their own unique user ID and password. You must either present your Unipass certificate, or enter your unique user ID and password before you can access the adviserzone.

If you do share your computer, it is important that you always log out and close your browser windows after using the adviserzone.

For your own security your adviserzone access will be automatically logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

What encryption are you using?

What is a Unipass?

A Unipass is a digital certificate. This is simply a file that sits on your PC and contains some details about you.

It's a bit like your own key to provider sites that you can use instead of different user names and passwords.

Certificates are recognised worldwide as an easy way of doing business on-line securely, making it easier to use the latest technology.

What does this mean for you?

It means that if you spend a few minutes completing the web-based application at www.unipass.co.uk, you can quickly obtain your own personal Unipass and save time and money on-line.

Origo's subsidiary company, OSIS, will then process your application and contact you directly if they need anything further.

After a few more days, you will be notified of how and where to collect your Unipass.

Where do I get more general information on Digital Certificates?
